QUETTA: Chief Secretary Balochistan, Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad has refused to make important postings and transfers just a week before formation of new coalition government in the province.
Refusal and objection over the transfers of senior bureaucrats angered interim Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Baroozai on Wednesday.
"I have decided to quit since I was bypassed in sending summary for convening Balochistan Assembly session," Nawab Baroozai told Dawn.com.
Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi convened the assembly session on June 1st.
He however contradicted the reports about refusal on the part of CS for postings and transfers.
"The Chief Secretary refused to transfer senior bureaucrats just a week before formation of next government", an insider at the meeting between Chief Minister and CS told Dawn.com.
He said that the CS tried to convince the CM that transfer of senior secretaries before the formation of the government would not look good.
"Transfer and postings is the mandate of new government," he said while quoting the reply of the CS to CM.
The insider said the CM directed the CS to transfer Managing Director Lasbella Industrial Estate Authority and four other provincial secretaries before the establishment of new set up.
